TESSERA 1.2 RELEASED

October 7, 2016

The latest version of Tessera processor firmware is now available for download.

Tessera 1.2 brings the exciting new On-Screen Colour Adjustment feature (OSCA for short) to the Tessera processing platform, along with many other improvements and bug fixes.

OSCA is called on-screen colour adjustment because a special user interface appears on the LED screen itself, making it easy to identify which panel/s you need to make adjustments to.

OSCA helps solve two very common problems with LED displays: mechanical tolerance issues causing the appearance of bright or dark lines between adjacent modules or panels; and inconsistent ageing, mixed batches or calibration problems causing colour/brightness mismatches between modules or panels.

OSCA’s key benefits:

  • Designed for large walls of high resolution panels

  • Quick and easy to find required modules to adjust

  • Relative seam adjustments, with easy seam selection

  • Powerful colour adjustment control, for colour matching between panels and modules

    • Includes ability to adjust and correct hue, saturation and luminance independently for each of the primary colours, secondary colours, and white

  • Adjustments are saved semi-permanently to the panels themselves

    • Adjustments 'travel' with the panels, so future shows can choose to benefit from reusing previous settings even if the wall is reassembled with panels in different positions

Tessera 1.2 also makes it easy to manipulate overlapping fixtures with Layers:

  • Create and delete layers, and move fixtures between them

  • Show and hide layers in the user interface without affecting video output

For a full detailed list of what OSCA can do, as well as the other 1.2 bug fixes and improvements, please see the release notes.
