TESSERA ON TOUR: U2


For the U2 Joshua Tree Tour 2017 Production Resource Group has provided a spectacular stadium sized video wall of ROE CB8 panels, driven entirely by Brompton Tessera processing.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic album, U2 and designer Willie Williams chose to make a dramatic visual statement reminiscent of the great Popmart LED wall (which began the LED revolution in touring production). The beautiful high resolution video content was created by long time U2 collaborator Anton Crobijn and echoes the distinctive artwork of the album itself.

Much of the video footage is comprised of stunning panoramic shots of the desert, making full use of the ultra-wide aspect ratio of the 200x43 foot surface. The screen comprises 1100 panels of ROE CB8 driven by 9 Brompton M2 processors (including spares). This creates a super high definition wall of 11.4 million pixels, and it's this pin-sharp accuracy that ensures a spectacular view from every point in the stadium.

PRG Chief LED Engineer Eric Geiger had this to say:

"This is my first time using the Brompton system and it was remarkably easy to understand and configure. From the time I first opened up the software it was user friendly but packed some amazing features I haven't seen with other products.

Since we entered pre-production we have had close support from the Brompton team via email and telephone and they have responded quickly whenever we have had questions or issues. I’m looking forward to working with the Brompton team and their products on many future projects."
